Credits for Noah's story: God
Director's orders; "Build an Ark as a witness to the world." There's a new movie in theaters about Noah. I do not know how accurate it is and I'm not sure I will go to see it. On the other hand, factually, it is interesting, as we don't know what language was spoken at the time. later we see God changing the common language to all the nationalities and dialects we have today.
We don't know what the people wore, or ate, or their houses, or family life. We really don't know anything about the anthropology of the human race before God's Flood of Judgement.
What we do know about the human race living at that time was they were very evil in the sight of God.
God is HOLY HOLY HOLY. Nothing Unholy can stand before Him. Our sin stinks in Heaven. The sin of humankind must have been very bad in Noah's day.
We know is Noah was a very, very, God-fearing man in the corrupt world around him.

Excerpt from chapter IX. Old Things Become New
Before the flood, there were no large bodies of water anywhere on earth. Water had never fallen from the sky before. When Noah and his family went into the ark, they were leaving behind everything they had ever known. The earth as they knew it would be forever gone when they emerged. How wonderful a faith this small group of people must have had?

Noah trusted God to control everything about their salvation. Even in the midst of trouble, fear, and death, Noah and his small group had only God to cling to in the end.
It wasn't the ark that saved Noah--it was God.
Squished! Why God Seemingly Destroys Our Fruit, Chapter IX talks about our faith in God as we endure scary trials or things we can't understand. Like Noah, we need to watch God do whatever He is doing and trust Him to land us on whatever mountain-top He wants to place us.
This movie is a temporary frivolity. The Flood was a temporary hardship. Squished! Why God Seemingly Destroys Our Fruit shows where our troubles are also temporary and like Noah, we can see Old Things Become New
