Spring here at last? 4/17/2014 4:31:46 PM
It's been a long winter, hasn't it? I need to get my little legs out there and walk. A lot. I got pounds to lose! And a heart I want to keep beating! :) It's been 10 months since my heart attack, and I haven't been able to exercise the way I'd planned to. Too much sickness this winter. Just passed germs from person to person and back again since January.
If that's not enough to get a person down, add to it my youngest son and his family moving way four months sooner than expected. Okay, sure, it's just an hour away, but, hey--I want them right here so I can see that little granddaughter of mine every day! I'm being totally selfish, and I don't care!
I have another older granddaughter who lives most of the year in Texas. When she does come up, we get to see her for a few hours. There's no real time to get to know each other, no doing stuff together. So, to have this little one moving off is a bitter pill to swallow. But--we'll see; maybe it'll work out better than I think it will.
I have reservations, mainly because of my daughter in law. She's a great mom, and a beautiful girl, but, to say we're best friends would be stretching it a few miles. I'm constantly trying to figure out where I fit in her world. Maybe I'll do a story on that issue sometime. Maybe I can work out in that way how to finally communicate with her, and get her to see I want to do more than come hang out with the baby. I kind of thought I'd be hanging out with everyone. Never seems to work out that way. Keira believes I come visit solely to play with her, and she's not happy if I want to chat with the adults, or grab a bite to eat. Although, if I do grab a bite or get a drink, she's right there to help me clean my plate and drain my glass!! Such a monkey!
Well, here's hoping all that works out. In the meantime, I hope I can get in a walk with my equally chubby dogs this weekend. Get a start on shedding some pounds. I need to lose about 30, and each of the dogs needs to lose about 15. They ought to be weighing about 20 lbs. tops. Yeah . . . we been lazy!
