At my former church, I served on the worship team for eight years. The team would be called up to the front prior to the invitation to play as people came to the altar for prayer.

Beforehand, I'd run to the potty.

Nearly every time, someone inside would be crying, come in upset, need a hug, or someone to pray with. When I was late for the invitation, everyone knew why.

It's happened quite a bit in the years since. Someone needed a kind smile, or someone to listen and understand.

Tonight Mom and I had dinner. Before we left, I went to the ladies room. Someone was sobbing in the last stall. Broken hearted weeping.

I asked her if I could help her. She came out right away and we hugged. She said she missed hugs so much. Her husband recently passed away. Something in the dining room reminded her of her him and made her sad. We didn't discuss it, but she was a chemo patient. After a bit of comforting talk, she was calm and ready to go back to her table.

It's no secret to those who know me well, that I pee quite a bit. Annoyingly often.

Maybe God gave me a weak bladder for a reason. Lemons into lemonade.

Perhaps we all have something about ourselves that annoys us... like my frequent tinkling. Might be part of a Master plan. A chance to connect with others.

Pretty humbling stuff.
