No matter if Ms. Dolezal is black, white, or a hybrid she is not qualified to teach anything except applied art. The media is going wild over the racial overtones of a white pretending to be black {if you believe she did that} but they completely forgot another problem with Ms.Dolezal.
She taught afro-American studies at Eastern Washington University without any advanced degree in that field. Not only does she lack a graduate degree specifically in afro-American Studies she lacks graduate work even close to that field such as sociology, history, anthropology, or maybe political science.
She finished a Master of Fine Arts in studio art and unlike a Master of Arts in art history the MFA is not designed for scholars.
The elephant in the room is that part time and or adjunct faculty are paid so poorly colleges don't hold them to the same standard as regular faculty.
