Why Criticize When Destruction is in View?
7/25/2015 3:24:59 PM

A look at people who find TV overly offensive

For as long as there as been TV there has been crap on TV that some person or the other has thought (or tried to) offensive enough to complain (and not only that but never shut up) about and to drag naked and screaming into the street that they night attempt to beat it to death.
One of the complaints that I hear nowadays, some version of which I’ve been hearing since the early days of cable, concerns people putting the boob in boob-tube.
Whether people are letting it all hang out in R rated movies or on shows where you don’t really see any of it, these viewers don’t think it’s (whether they can see it or not) decent or on the list of programs that Jesus would watch, and therefore feel that you shouldn’t be allowed to.
They really need to stop trying to play God and get over themselves.
Take the woman from Michigan who put the little known Fox Network on the map by having absolutely nothing else better to do than complain day and night all the way to the national news about the evils of one of the best (few watchable) programs to ever grace the television screen, that being Married With Children (which nailed marriage to the wall, boy they really had its number). The program aired on a channel that she had to go up onto her roof and wrap two boxes of tin foil and half a dozen metal coat hangers around her TV antenna in order to barely pick up.
If you ask me (and come to think of it, even if you don’t), she needed a hobby and a working mind, but God bless her anyway.
I don’t find TV to be offensive so much as bad and (somehow) getting worse all the time.
It used to be that bad or good or bad or otherwise new shows and new seasons of old shows only premiered once a year. Now every time you turn around there’s a new show on the air or a new season or partial season of an old show.
You know what I do about the horrible state of television today as I see it, wait, you’ll never see this one coming; I don’t see it. I simply don’t watch it. I watch what I want to watch and leave the other 99.99.99% well alone.
Maybe these anal attention whores should try that.
Take a sledgehammer to the old box or strap a couple of sticks of dynamite to it and set them off or hit it with the old Elvis remote control if it’ll make you feel better and move on and get a life.
Nah!
Hey, here’s an idea for you losers, why don’t you take to protesting my 5 star .99 e-book WHAT’S IN A NAME?? I promise you that there’s a lot in the book for you to get upset about. It’s way worse than Married With Children ever dreamed of being.
That’s right, that’s right, what we need here is a good old fashioned modern day book burning!
Yep!
Buy it, burn (delete) it, repeat to your heart’s content.
I’d go at least 50 if I were you, that’d greatly help to enlighten me to the seriousness of the situation and show me that you really mean business.
WHAT’S IN A NAME? is available on iPhone, iPad, iPad touch, Mac, and compatible devices.
