Human beings have very different characteristics and these can affect the way we behave, the way we relate to others, the way we think and therefore the way we learn.
One of the best things that we can do to improve our society, to alleviate poverty, improve communication & human relations, create a better life, help students to be more successful, make more money, stop polluting & clean up the environment ...and generally solve our problems is to start with improving our schools.
NO CHILD LEFT BEHIND HAS NOT PRODUCED GOOD RESULTS.
Many experts, scholars, and educators offer theories as to why..... ONE BIG PROBLEM is that standardized tests were over-used to evaluate....causing the schools to direct their efforts at teaching to pass the tests.
Experts have identified three basic learning styles:
Auditory learners remember by talking out loud, like to have things explained orally and may have trouble with written instructions.
Visual learners easily remember visual details and prefer to see what they are learning.
Kinesthetic or tactile learnersprefer activities that allow them to do what they are learning about.
Rev. Jeremiah Wright claimed in his recent speeches that there are some big differences in the way that children of various ethnic groups and cultures learn. He spoke of "right brain vs. left brain" aspects of learning...concepts that have been shown to be valid via research.

There are some studies that show that African-American boys tend to be more active in the classroom...they want to move around, touch and feel and not just sit and listen.
Other experts do confirm that there are differences in learning styles among various groups. Some claim that culture and environment contribute to the disparities between Blacks and Whites.
