Melvia has worked as trainer, school teacher, workshop leader, college instructor, corporate trainer, and business consultant for many years. Her expertise lies in her ability to use innovative ways of teaching and training...games, exercises, and group activities. She believes and knows from many years of teaching experience... that most of us learn the best when we enjoy our work...or we participate in entertaining, creative exercises ---and/or engaged in creative & fun activities with other people. The reason is that we are using both left & right brain, which activates a synergistic learning process.
Thus, she created the concept of "edu-tainment"---which is a wholistic approach that involves... education, attainment, and entertainment.
This author worked for Chrysler Corp., AT & T, Univ. of Mich., Ball State Univ., YWCA, Boys & Girls Clubs, American Motors, and other major companies. In addition, Melvia Miller has received numerous honors and awards, including scholarships, fellowships, and being named: "Young Professional Woman of the Year"--by NANBPW, Inc.---and being named to "Who's Who in American Universities and Colleges." She is also a member of Delta Sigma Theta Public Service Sorority. As a service project, she has been offering books (free & at discounts) to non-profit groups, tutoring services, youth clubs, food banks, clinics, homeless shelters, etc. -- which serve under-privileged people.
The author holds numerous degrees & honors---and is a graduate of Ball State University and the University of Michigan. In addition, she is also a Certified Herbalist and holds a doctorate in Wholistic Education. Her expertise lies in writing and developing training materials, educational methodology, and in publishing. She is the founder of a Cultural Diversity Museum on-line, called: THE TRUE HISTORY MUSEUM. After many years, she used the materials to create activity books for teaching Black History topics.
