Hi everyone,

I hope you all are having a wonderful holiday season. We had a great turkey dinner at our home on Christmas Eve. I was wrapping presents last minute as I always do and my husband baking our turkey and cooking. I helped by heating rolls, making gravy and hot corn. We went to our children's home on Christmas where our daughter-in-law's mother, grandson and children served a wonderful Lobster Boil/steak dinner. Bill made a cheese tray, I made a cookie tray of a lot of our favorites, mostly store bought except for the green Christmas Chocolate Chip. Bill's 2nd oldest brother had passed in November and it's been hard getting our normal holiday routine down. We finally opened presents after the dishes were washed or put in the dishwasher. I had eaten a couple cookies by this time. Their dog was sitting on our son's legs and cat chasing bows around the house. I didn't make an exact count of the number of Christmas cards I wrote this year but I'll bet it was at least 85. The house is quiet now, the tree still on our island surrounded by 3/4 full candy boxes and only 1/8th bag of caramel, cheese and regular popcorn from Bill's old neighbor. We have two new restaurant cards and I have a store card to get new clothes. I hope you all enjoyed your holidays, whichever one you celebrate. I'm looking forward to a new year. I didn't get a poem or story out in December but I still have this week. Time is running out but there's always next year. Happy 2024 everyone! I hope it will be better than the last.
