“Night of the Humpbacked Moon” is a murder mystery of interest and intrigue and quite a different read. From the initial pages the book did grab me as I wandered in my thoughts about where it was going. The pages turning quickly whilst the vivid characters that the author created evolved. I finished the book rather quickly and found it to be certainly enjoyable.
The book, from the onset seems dark and secretive and you continue on your journey through the story that takes you inside the doors of a women’s crisis house, the “ESCA”, where a murder has taken place. The author, Lois Wells Santalo builds the crisis house nicely in your imagination with divergent characters and intertwines them well. As with any roller coaster built for a thrill, this “who done it” takes you on a ride building each character just enough and then sharply turns and leaves you hanging while building the next. ”.
This author clearly has a command of the English language and uses it splendidly with descriptive detail.
If you are looking for a good book that is different from the others, you will not be bored with the “Night of the Humpbacked Moon”. I will add that it is a magnificent title! I look forward to reading other books written by Lois Wells Santalo.
