Robert Benchley, the wonderful American humorist of the 1930s & 40s, wrote that, “There are only two kinds of travel: first class and with children”. Having recently returned from an 8 day vacation in Bangkok with my wife and 17 month old daughter, I now understand exactly what he meant. Hitch-hiking solo from point A to B is first class compared to making the same journey in a private Lear jet with a child on board.
