A Sista’s Love

New Orleans native, Da Lady Mystik, is living her dream of being amongst the ranks of publish writers. This new author on the rise has published her first book of urban/realist poetry entitled A Sista’s Love (Publish America).

Mystik is currently promoting this work as well as working on a book of fiction. She is no stranger to the world of product marketing, as she can be seen daily gracing the stages of Spoken Word venues in the city of New Orleans showering audiences with her talents be it poetry or song.

About The Author

Mystik was born in New Orleans, Louisiana. She was born into a family of musicians and singers. She followed in her father’s footsteps and developed a keen love for music. She wrote her first song at the age of ten and began singing at about the same time. She lived in New Orleans until Aug 29,2005 and relocated to Cedar Hill, TX with her family after Hurricane Katrina flooded her beloved home town. While in Texas, she spent a great deal of time writing and trying to provide a normal life for her children. Mystik returned to Kenner, Louisiana in 2006 feeling the need to come home and help with the rebuilding, coping and healing process of her community. She felt that her skills as a social worker were needed in New Orleans where she could assist in helping her neighbors; her community and her city bounce back.

Mystik works as a Health Educator in the New Orleans area in the field of HIV Prevention Education for at risk women. She conducts group sessions at varies locations around the city to educate women on this pandemic. She is also a certified trainer for the Centers of Disease Control and Prevention to train others to facilitate the SISTA Project HIV Prevention Intervention.

Mystik also does motivational speaking engagements in and around the city on varies topics to help up- lift and empower women and educate on women’s issues.
