SAGE SWEETWATER CREATIVE PROPERTIES is the flagship of Stone Creek Woman, my autobiograpy journal, divided into six parts: Shared Blessings, Endangered Species, Sacred Shelters, Canoe Medicine, Moving the Pack, and Reintroduction.

Through the vast elasticity of nature in my backyard, bordering thousands of acres, eleven of them which I own, I was determined to turn deaths into rebirths. These "deaths" were not tagged-on-the-toe-extinguished-human varieties, but rather, exhausted and unproductive idiosyncrasies.

I built rows of "medicine" shelves and attached the knowledge wood to the log wall below a chunk of lightning-splintered oak, then wood burned the personalized, medicinal lettering LIBRARY OF SAGE.

In the next few months, I collected healing books and nature audiocassettes to align my medicine shelves with diverse prescriptions.

Four months into my healing process, thinking it beneficial, I packed my bags to be in the healing company of other tattered, battered women, so with a burlap bag over my shoulder, en route for an 8-day wilderness pack trip via llamas, advertised exclusively for women in a local feminist opus, I was off.

Stone Creek Woman was one-half Choctaw Indian, a modern-day Sacajawea who led groups of battered women across Colorado's western frontier. Besides being an outfitter, she was a descriptor who wrote poetry, stories, and journals about women for women.

I recorded the words and knowledge, and the images with a confidence needed for SAGE SWEETWATER CREATIVE PROPERTIES to find its way. These properties consist of many projects today, from several novels, to a recording project, to a board game spin-off from the recording project, to a set of tarot cards, to a spin-off pottery line now in the first blueprint stages.

I journaled Stone Creek Woman for the same four reasons it can be categorized: for healing value, for message narration, entertainment for the female soul, and as an instrument, the flute, which accents my words in a "song" of nature worthy of a meaningful listening experience.

This is where I plant my seeds, water my paragraphs, harvest the knowledge, and conjure conversation with my literary agent: In a discarded, leaky canoe I sealed with pinion pitch and filled with peat and perlite and food spikes nourishing good literary soil, where I borrow and plant kindly, my words.

We have found the hope and courage to start all over again in a free land. Use your abilities to fly into the sun, even if it means being scorched a little.
