The hurt and pain of something tragic can cause a heart to die.

WHEN A HEART DIES

When a heart dies
Water from the stream of love become shallow and dries
The stars in the heavens grow dim
Where once was a mighty love is now a great chasm.

When a heart dies and you’ve given your all and all
Nobody but you know how bad it hurts and how far you had to fall
Will there ever come a time when life will enter into the dead space in your
chest
To put your mind at ease and troubled soul to rest.

You sit and wonder will you ever love again
Or will you keep your feelings to yourself securely locked within
Even though deep within you yearn to say, “yes” as tears flow from your eyes
Giving testimony that the answer is “no” because you still share the
pain of when a heart dies.

When a heart dies tomorrow has shallow meaning
Throughout the Universe there is a screening
Of who will ever again share your best
From this dead heart within your chest.

Your soul churns to give
      You want to live
But inside from a heart that has died dark clouds float
Shading the light of love that has grown remote

When a heart dies it is a struggle to live again
For you’ve been torn asunder from within
Now, to Heaven you look to end what belies
In the chamber of chaos and pain when a heart dies.

Touching...love is so powerful. When it there and when it's gone, love has a lasting touch. Yes, when healing takes place - love will come again and there the heart will live again, because love will warm the heart. -Beautiful, Tommmy.

Yes the heart suffers so much pain, but as you said, "to Heaven you look to end what belies..." for always God's grace and comfort will
catch you as you fall. I'd call this poem TRANSPARENT as it shows the heart and its naked pain in verse. Bravo!

Such pain so many endure and though we would like it to go away even for just a little while, it never really does...

Be always safe,
Karen

You very effectively convey the pain that follows when a heart is "broken" by the removal of love. Thank you, Tommy. Love and peace,

Regis

TRUST is the "usually" the reason WHY! Tim, Timmy - This poem is very relateable! I found such love, warmth and still a faith in yearning as it was written! An easy wonderful flow!
When a Heart Dies, is sad but reality as we "try hard" to go on, making new memories! that uplift our heart, with every risk we take, in his name we can. Trust is needed as the rest will proceed!
Such truth is spoken/written here!
WRITE ON! and I send you my energies in forgiveness, or for anyone reading this ~

Warmest Blessings of Love, Peace and Bright Light, Warrior Purple Lady SHEExooo

In the Whirlwind by Tichaona Chinyelu

In the Whirlwind is a poetic storm that frees history from the cages of corruption and puts it in the hands of everyday people. Words are weaved into a new fashion statement that has nothing to do with runways but everything to do with projects!
