Hunger gnawing from within,

               something living in my head,

cannot sleep for fear of dreaming,

              closing eyes, for fear of seeing...

Eyes that haunt, from moments creeping,

             in my happiness, that's weeping...

for the loss I can't retrieve,

             and a love, I can't believe...

Left me here, beneath the ground,

            where I lay, without a sound...

gasping for each breath of air,  

            cursing Fate that isn't fair.

Should I scream, or should I wait,

             for reprieve from this despair,

in the dark and heavy ground,

             where I weep, without a sound.
