This is a sonnet that looks at love and the transformations it can make in someone's life, comparing those changes to the monster in Mary Shelley's Frankenstein. Enjoy!

A touch of thy heart that makes it quiver.

The body shivers as it comes to life.

Dead and decaying thou wilt deliver

Stabs of emotional cuts like a knife.

Skin sewn together from pieces of thee

As strength abides and memory retreats.

Volts of passion cause screams of a banshee

While the fears of loneliness it defeats.

Legends pass but the end is still the same.

Torches light and the hunt for thee comes nigh.

No divine authority takes the blame

As the flame of love’s death heaves its last sigh.

A monstrous love with nothing in between

Except the brutal mortality screen.
