You were there when I was born, with great pain you brought me into this world

You were there when I took my first steps and my scrapes needed care

You were there when I had my first 'crush' and held me when I cried

You were there when I went into my difficult teen years, even when I thought I hated you but you were still there and cared

You were there to watch me grow into a woman 

You were there for me when no one wanted anything to do with me and you called me your little girl

And when I thought that I was the ugliest person in the world you were there telling me how beautiful I was

Even when we fought, you were still there telling me how much you cared

When I felt like giving up, you always encouraged me and showed me how much you cared

You have always been there for me

I just hope one day when I am a mother that I will be there and care for my children like you were there for me.
