I awoke this morning craving cheese.
It is not a desire at which to sneeze,
Nor one that I could easily feeze
For if I did, all during the day it would seize
Every opportunity to display its displease.
I would smell it with each breath I drew,
And taste it with each morsel I chose to chew,
And by the end of the day my decision I’d rue
Because the symptoms are enough like the flu
To leave me not only hungry, but queasy, too.
So off to the fridge I scampered with zest
To find some cheese that I could ingest,
But to my horror I failed in my quest
Which left me both hungry and depressed
With a growl in my belly and tightness in my chest.
This lesson, my friend, is hereby shown.
Always be aware of what you own
For if the honest truth be known
Cravings of any kind are not appeased by a groan
Especially when they grow to desires full blown.
