Higher Ground

Knowing on earth true happiness cannot be found

I’m setting my sights on higher ground.

Training my eyes on the heavens bright

I’m coming out of the darkness and into the light

I’m putting my heart where true treasure is found

By setting my sights on higher ground.

I now walk in the Son’s light and peace fills my days

Because the path is clean and easy are His ways.

He thought me about love both true and profound

So I’m setting my sights on higher ground.

When my time is over and life’s veil is torn

Please don’t be sad.  Please don’t mourn

Because perfect happiness I will have found

With Jesus, my Savior on higher ground.
