Just a reminder of what a writer/poet's job is and the single most important tool we have to accomplish it.

The Ultimate Weapon

I am the ultimate weapon
A warrior called the “word”,
And each time someone uses me
My battle cry is heard.
I’ve recorded mankind’s history
So he can learn from the past.
Some things I say bring great joy
But others leave good men aghast.
I have brought down nations,
And given others birth.
I form the precious documents
Which proclaim mankind’s worth.
I’ve cried out about injustice,
And shouted the victim’s and victor’s tales.
In mankind’s darkest hour,
My spirit best prevails.
I’ve declared war
And I’ve proclaimed the peace,
Convicted criminals
And caused innocent men’s release.
I mark the very moment
When a baby lets out its first cry,
And it’s my sad duty to tell the world
When time comes for him to die.
Yes, I am a warrior,
And none can deny my might.
And I shall live as long as humanity
Can read and speak and write.
