From the moment I first
laid eyes upon you,
I felt it, that old
familiar surge of
anticipation,
expectation, of
promised adventure and, yea,
even ecstasy.
My fingers whisper
over your smooth surface,
memorizing the feel,
seeking fulfillment --
in increasing frenzy, I strive
against control, against
the restraints of inhibition.
Finally, in complete submission,
I grasp my instrument and
press into you, my
rhythmic thrusts spill ink into
the ecstasy of creation:
"Once upon a time...."
Yes, indeed. Beautiful piece!! Thank you Dallas. Big fan of the bait and switch!!! Enchanting words and ever so true. Passion, lust, affliction, addiction...the fire that consumes, the object thereof may change, but the hearth in which it is kindled looks very much the same!
While your transparency is a bit beyond my victorian comfort level, Dallas, the literary quality of your poetry is beyond reproach. You might need to elevate the rating to R my friend if you'd rather not be verbally tarred and feathered. :-)
If you tend to believe romantic, passionate, masculine poetry is a thing of past eras, read "She Intrigues Me," and be swept away in the beautiful craft of a contemporary poet of love.
