Ebony cotton enfolds
white-hot rapiers of light:
the world shivers in wild reverbration.
It echoes from hill to hill
to hill.
Awakened, she shudders
at the clashing swords, but
her somulence quickly returns,
softly lulled by
incessant rhythmic thrum.
Stroboscopic white
outlines a fleeting form
across the curtains --
or is it?
Night shadows can play tricks
amid interrupted dreams,
OOOOOOOOOOOOOooo.... so exquisitely Mary Shelley... But, as all others have noted, the strength and uniqueness of your imagery is electrifying, breathtaking and startling! This is a cacoon I'd like to be wrapped in, all that hot-and-heavy goin on outside while I can just be wrapped in the wonder and comfort of safety... or, perhaps, intrigue...!! What a cool poem Dallas. I love thunder storms. Don't get to see many in LA; but I did manage to catch a few in Germany last month. Like the surreal no-man's land between slumber and waking life. Spent half my life there in fact. Be good.
Ooooh - this could have been written about my StormFear! Very well done, Dallas, grabs and doesn't let go - leaves the reader wondering at the end - what was in the storm?!? Excellent!!
