A Touch Of Sadness

A Critter Spoke To Me

A critter spoke to me
It asked:
Why do earthlings kill
If not for food?

* * * *

Splattered Blood

Splattered blood
Amongst broken glass
Results of the unexpected

Horror of moment's tragic refrain
Will those involved
Ever love again?

* * * *

Memories-Sad

One can not avoid
Sad memories
Yet, one must desire
To not get lost in them

When they visit
Reflect, if you must
Then fight to pull away

Or else.....

Splattered Blood reminds me of the London bombings this year, and how the people involved must have thought, and Memories is the best piece of advice i'v never been given. Really good.

That "critter" reminded me of the purported cannibal that the pioneering anthropologist Bronislaw Malinowski reported after his ethnography of the Trobrianders, who asked "how can the Europeans eat all that meat?" from the people being killed during WWI. When Malinowski replied they weren't being eaten, the cannibal asked perplexedly "why would they kill without a purpose?"
