(Another version of a poem I wrote in 2003)

When sleep holds me in its arms
And kisses me good night
It wraps me in blankets of dream
And shows me unworldly sights

Strange realms of unknown places
Tantalizingly beautiful sites
Visions imbued with splendid hue
Are shown to me in dead of night

Sleep whispers tales of wonders true
Sings such heartfelt melodies
Enchants me throughout the blue
While uttering splendid poetry

I'm nourished and thus sanctified
My dreams filled with light
When sleep holds me in its arms
And kisses me good night

What a magical and inviting poem this is. The thing you call sleep sounds like an enchanted and romantic waltz between your soul and your muse. Suspect all who read this now yearn to go where you go when slipping under their covers:-)

I guess I can see the beauty of the ethreal world you paint. And, You paint it so well too. But for me, sleep is a terrifying experience, and instead of sweet dreams of whatever, I have nightmares of what was. My terror is real, and it keeps me up most nights until the next morning when it gets light out. Only then, with people up and about do I feel really safe. But your poem here is bright, and happy (I wish I could be happy). Anyway Gwen, thnx for sharing your wonderful gift of insight. May the Lord Jesus bless you, and those whom you love, and be with you always, and at your side constantly. With much love in my heart, stubborn and determined to a fault, joy to the world, peace on earth, & ((((((((((MANY WONDERFUL SISTERLY HUGGGGSSSS)))))))))), your very sad and terrified little sister, Barbie
