Flashbacks of horror
Old memories
Observed as a child
Hiding amongst mulberry trees

Witness to crimes of rage and hate
I heard the screams
I saw the faces
I remember the scenes

Violent acts so dastardly
Horrid acts of cruelty
Out beyond the mulberry trees
Gruesome sights still haunting me

I saw hands around her throat
Saw blood gushing from his wound
I knew where cold bodies lay
Placed within a secret tomb

Flashbacks of horror
Old memories
Observed as a child
Hiding amongst mulberry trees

Greatly penned thoughts and memories, which we hope are not real, how terrible it would be.

Gwen,

I pray this is fiction...GAD, chilling to even contemplate! Short lines only increase the feeling of helplessness in witnessing this horror. VERY well done.

How horrible for you. IS autobiography? God, the things we are
forced to go through. E x c e l l e n t j o b. Mulberry trees
make the scene all too vivid. Blessings always, 'Pea' <3 ~~~ PS:
An old saying was often a source of solace for me: "If the road
is rocky when you are young, it will be smooth when you are grown."
Road's hardly ever smooth, I hear people thinking, and they're right.
But having it rough in the early years does prepare you. Realize how lucky you are when things go right! Hugs!!

my gooseflesh has gooseflesh..my immediate reaction is to hug the child in you to chase away that horror..but reality stands, always, between protective desire and the NOW. by writing this, if it is truly your memories..i hope that those demons have been exorcised. by the mere confrontation, alone.
big hugs..and blessings of comfort and light.

I really felt this because as an adopted child i was abused and it constantly flashes across my face but i am ok today and it is ok to write about the pain and to be able to read what others write as it helps me.

Hell of a piece of writing here, Gwen. A lot was observed hiding amongst the mulberry trees, a lasting view of evil.
