I wrote this poem in 2007 for a girl who had survived a car crash. Now it is also an inspiration for myself. But I dedicate it to all who are going through tough times.

The Race

by The Poetess (SRP)

When too many clouds crash in,

Darkening the Light of day,

We sometimes wonder why

Life deals us such dismay.

If it reaches a point

Where the best we can do

Is hold the broken pieces

And strive to make it through,

Lets let each bump on the road

Become a higher step to take

And every joy in the future,

What today's tears can make.

All the years ahead

Can shine through the past

When we crawl the race

Where the strongest finish last.

Life is sure sometimes a bumpy ride, some may find it difficult but it keeps us awake and helps us focus on our way, otherwise we might fall asleep and miss many of life's exciting adventures. Beautiful offering. Peace and love in Christ.

Hugs,
Sheri

What a lovely poem. So well written and inspiring for the hearts that are going through pain. It speaks of how hard times can help us really appreciate the future good that always comes in time.
