Couldn't sleep so I let my pen weep into my computer - the box. . .

Before the Box
by The Poetess (SRP)

I’m sitting before the box, for nothing else to do,
At half past one o’clock! I must be nearly through.

And who are we? I honestly do not know,
Just words on a screen that we dare show
Do we carry the fantasy of a new friend

Who truly cares for our sonnets penned?
If I stopped writing dozens of reviews
Would I ever hear from any of you?

Many of these authors have no face.
Who are they? I sometimes wonder.
Can a real friendship grow in a box?
Just another thing to ponder.

Wish I could do readings without being stalked
Or peacefully roam forests I used to walk.
But I’m still sitting before this box!

I very much relate. Each person brings their unique gifts to the world. I appreciate yours, and plan to be in the boxes you create- grateful. You give inspiration to face the out side the box nonsense.

I've met some wonderful people in the box....and the only way I would have found some of them is by reading reviews...I certainly get what you're saying in this one....

The real mystery is what's behind the box me thinks. Well done.

Much to ponder in your lines....and I have to say that I agree with Regis...I, too, believe anything can happen.

I believe anything can happen. Your verses do give me pause for reflection and I can relate to your theme. It is only shortly after eleven pm here. It's very dark outside. Well, you've got me really thinking now. Love and best wishes,

Regis
