A DREAM

A most unusual waking dream.

A dream it is
In which I find myself
In a book - upon a shelf
Its corner's curled
Its cover burled
It is the story of myself

Once it was the proudest
Even if not the loudest
It stood up straight
Had a book plate
Signed by the noblest

It remembers

Being fondled
Caressed and embraced
Adored and beloved
The fragrance of roses
Silk and lace
Its life now dwells

On capital stands
Amongst thicker tomes
Which groan
In a rare bookcase - braced
Locked and guarded

Barbara,
Would that each could have this sort of dream with one of our books found well-used by others and standing the "true" test of time as a remembrance by others who've read its author. Great, just great!
