My Tattered Soul
Alas, few know.....
That tattered and torn,
remain the mainstay of
my heart so veiled in visage,
Few see the tattered heart
in desperation, nightly
dodging the
despotic shadows
that linger and lurk, and yes,
travel and roam about in the night
seasons, when most sleep
and find peace,
Yes, few know.
I seek not they should!
That my heart might merely be embraced
as common in strand,
for no, the price remains merely to high,
as it always shall so remain,
I mind not nor care, as I now travel in
age exalted and standing tall,
for now my tattered heart
remains far to scarred
to hold, kiss nor view
I knew it then,
as I know it now,
the price
remains to high.
So, touch not, I beg thee,
this
tattered heart of mine,
for it remains torn beyond
reason, at least, all who see
so say....
It once was quite light,
and glimmered at times,
this rare heart of mine
when young,
but now ... yes now,
well,
It remains better you just
look away...
Hear not her cry of night,
nor signal
of day,
Hear not her mew, I beg and plea,
for soon, she shall be no more,
and your heart shall be spared
the raw spectacle indeed,
of my heart so tattered,
and to torn to see.....
