Cannot script
by day
first night must fall
busy with bridges
going
this way and that
the night
when descending
brings roads old
and new
'tis not till
the sun falls
writing table I view
bridges to nowhere
paths leading right back
to where I first started
upon looking back
My mind races in circles
its mysteries untold
unchartered waters
the course set
each night
swept down a tunnel
upon time moving fast
wrapped tight in remembrance
the moon winking back
flesh grasping pen
I etch escapades
of high lords
and of demons
night riding in hordes
dark ushering in
entities
dressed as mere men
despotic disposition
breeds hidden by rock
no mystery to me
my ink drenches parchment
of the days I do see
ink falls
brow drips
heart bows slightly
in fear
a bridge
yes another bridge
bring this I
do pray
this bridge
or that bridge
this path or
that way
they shadow my passage
with war horses
of past
sword wielding
heart wrenching
warrior spirit unleashed
clad in unflinching
nor cowered
'tis me you now meet
I battled you
in yesteryear
now bowing
in traced scent
I knew you in the highlands
where air scarce
is graced
I'll see you on the morrow
like a shadow of grim
yet my sword now
is sharper
from pleasure
of yes
yesterdays race
so you face now a warrior
not the youth you once knew
I now stand in season
now formidable
to you
think not
my scars worn
scraped no lesson in time
for they groomed me
and taught me
this art of war
I now wear
skilled now and seasoned,
I stand as no man
but warrior and soldier
yes
till night end

There is something about night that allows us to reach into the depth of our souls and find the true meaning of ourselves. I love the solitude of night, so empty yet full of wonder. Another magical write seannachie, my brother. Mal.
