Where lieth the drug, can free me from you
Not that I desire it lass, but what am I do
I'm undone by your breath, that lingers upon me in scent thick, I'm undone
I'm undone like a lad of sixteen, yes, undone,
Where lieth the drug to ease my heart resting in agony undone?
Oh the ache that lie at the foot of my heart undone
Whisper I, undone whisper I, undone
Haunting call they, the howl of my cry by night
Haunting call they, my love so bright, haunting
Yea, does indeed the howl of the wolf haunt I cry?
To my ears I say nay, for the howl of the wolf is I
Raw, honest, and howling into the night
Night screams of heart twisted in bright
Undone is my heart 'tis plain to see, undone
Marks my very soul so deep, undone
Nay, no drug to cure, the howl of my soul
That screamed long ago on a plain such as this
Wind differing in time, my howl still the same, heard still crawling upon the wind!
Haunting they say, undone speaks weeps my soul
Undone, death no cure...
For surely my howl would reign and ring even then in the heavens as well
For the wolf always will cry, weep howl for his own
Upon sweeping his voice to the throne of hers undone
Melady, I simply am undone, treat me with mercy I beg
For surely I am undone, sigh....undone, whisper...undone, hush undone...
This one went straight into my soul. I love this one. It resonates....

"...at the foot of my heart..." This and you, my dear Rodney, are 'one of a kind'.. You speak to the heart, to the head, but in a language I have not heard, yet I understand it and bask in it. I smile with recognition, I weep, I revel, I linger. "Undone", indeed! but I wish no tonic to dull my senses when I read your bold unveilings here.. for you strip and show us YOU.. and that is a lesson to us all. katy.
Each person is but a grain of sand resting beside the sea. This thought sets the tone for Jill Eisnaugle’s latest poetry collection, Beside Still Waters.
