Mother bear goes out on the prowl, seeking her catch of the day.
Her cubs full of anticipation bounce around and play.
The lion emerges from his den, the cool breeze mussing his mane.
The hyena up on his haunches, laughing as if insane.
Snakes slithering out to their favorite rock, ready to bask in the hot sun.
Monkeys tumbling and swinging, out to create their own kind of fun.
The spider busily spins a new home, with hope that a few flies will drop by.
The hawk lets out a squawk, taking flight, soaring up on high.
Swans dance across the water, while ducks quack among the reed.
Two leopards race in the field, sprinting at top speed.
Dawn brings with it abundant energy, as nature comes alive.
From mite to elephant, each works, plays, and struggles to survive.
Then as darkness slowly creeps in, they all settle down to rest.
All returning home to their cozy den, or lofty nest.
The hyena too weary to be amused, the birds too exhausted to cheep.
The stars twinkle, and the daffodils bow their heads in sleep.
