The Perfect Gift
In our search for the perfect gift, we consider the cost, color, or size.
We scour the sales ads, plot our strategy, then set out to find the best buys.
We ask ourselves what do they want, what do they need, what will put joy on their face.
But oftentimes end up worn out, unsatisfied, shopping from place to place.
In the business of planning, we sometimes lose sight of the true meaning of that day.
In the frenzy of shopping, we sometimes forget what the message of Christmas has to say.
In preparing for that first Christmas, the Father searched the hearts of men, and heard the cries of the lost.
As He began planning His strategy, He gave great consideration to what would be the cost.
He knew what man needed and wanted, and what would put joy on his face.
He had the Perfect Gift, was satisfied, and knew Bethlehem would be the place.
The Father gave the gift of His only Son, a gift of love, a gift of Himself.
The Perfect Gift for the shepherds, the poor, and even the kings of great wealth.
So as this Christmas approaches, let us remember the Perfect Gift was Love, and still is.
So beyond the packages and bows, share with everyone your love, and His.
Cherish your family and friends, let them know you love them, and the great value they possess.
Let the love of Christ abound in your heart, and this Christmas, give the gift that is priceless.
The presents we buy will eventually grow old, and their usefulness will one day fade away.
But the memory of a kind word, a hug, an expression of love, will bring a smile on the darkest day.
This Christmas let the Giver of every good and perfect gift be our example, and let love be the gift we give to every life we touch.
Let the Perfect Gift keep on giving, and this Christmas, know that God and I love you very much.
