I wrote this poem in 2004, after a fellow teacher was convicted for child molestation. He is serving 52 years prison sentence.
I don't understand..... why men choose to do evil when it is easier to do good I don't understand..... why we defy all logic and give more rights to criminals I don't understand..... why pedophiles hurt innocent children I don't understand..... why people continue to vote for politicians who lie and leave them high and dry I don't understand..... why we comply with laws that deny us civil our civil rights I don't understand..... why people discriminate and hate and refuse to see that all men are created equal in the eyes of God I don't understand ..... a lot of things, but what is clear..... making the world a better place is one thought away!!!!!!!!

We all share in your lack of understanding, and we all support your concept that "making the world a better place is one thought away."

We all know this is not a perfect world, which is one reason that when one "passes on," it is often described as "going to a better place."

Thank you for putting into words what we all feel in our hearts.
