Father's Day is always hard for me. I usually spend time thinking about how blessed I am that my kids have such a wonderful dad, but after spending two weeks in Florida with relatives from my father's side these feelings just hit me like a ton of bricks. I had to get them out. Thank you Den friends for your support.
I WILL NEVER UNDERSTAND
I will never understand why you abandoned me when I needed you the most
I will never understand why you loved and nourished my two brothers and sister;
yet you threw me out on the curves like a stash of trash to be devoured by vultures
I will never understand why you allowed what happened between you and my mother
to turn you into a cold hearted father, can you please explain your actions? BUT…
What I do understand and accept is I will not let what you did to me from loving my brothers and sister; they had nothing to do with your cowardly actions BUT…
What I do understand is I have forgiven you. You see, I could never be like you, my Heavenly Father healed my heart, he replaced all of my hurts with his healing touch, I will be forever free to bask in his eternal love for me!
YOU FEEL LIKE I FEEL ABOUT THINGS THAT HAVE HAPPENED IN MY PAST; WE CERTAINLY FORGIVE...FOR WE, AS CHILDREN OF GOD, 'MUST' DO THIS. BUT WE DO NOT FORGET AND I THINK THIS IS GOOD. BECAUSE TO FORGET WHAT HAS HAPPENED MEANS TO FORGET THE 'BRIDGE' THAT NURTURED, HEALED AND BROUGHT US OVER. I NEVER WANT TO FORGET 'ALL' THAT GOD(THE BRIDGE) HAS DONE FOR ME.
