I am not there yet, but I have cared for a few aged actors. I never asked them, but I imagined how they felt, when all those lines had to be remembered, night after night.
*Smile for the camera's* *before the curtains* *come down,* *hide the emotion* *as you look* *all around,* *cherish the moment* *as you take* *your final bow,* *all they see* *is the actor* *not the man* *growing frail.* *Everyone is happy* *wishing you well* *yet behind the smiles* *some know your hell,* *you've struggled* *with memory* *froze several times* *but the showman in you* *made it all seem right.* *Now its acceptance* *before it makes you ill,* *you have decided to retire* *maybe write your memoir.* *To hell with this life* *so short* *and so insane,* *you wish you were* *nineteen* *and could do it* *all again.*

I can surely sense a menoncholy tone and yet sometimes it is sad, but it is the person who matters more....
