I form the street with every step I take,
walking carefully, heel to toe, heel to toe,
the darkness presses upon me,
but it cannot overtake me
as long as I do not go
too far into the shadows, the mist a
lake of swirling eddies, clinging now, singing now
bringing peace upon me
waiting to console me,
I’m finished now, I take a bow
for the performance is almost over,
words run out, nothing left to do or say,
the spotlight rests upon me
and now all you can see is me,
turning my back and walking away.
