I'd have no covering 

then the world would have its way   

the winds would toss me here and there 

with no awareness of night or day 

If ever You should leave me... 

I'd be within carnality's grasp 

my existence would be - a waste 

the light of eye would fail me 

in the dank - without a trace

If ever You should leave me... 

I'd feel that sun and moon were  

merely 'things' that fell into place 

when I lifted my head...I'd only see sky 

not the wondrous glory of Your Face 

But just to know I'll never walk such a path 

nor...never will I be so fenced... 

is more than just a comfort against wrath  

why...it's a shroud of strength and defense! 

Your Word says You will ever abide

standing beside me like a rooted tree

You'll lift me o'er trials and...glide...

even through fire and rough sea! 

You are the difference between  

eternal salvation or damnation's sod!

albeit, whether I'm happy or sad...

I will forever Praise You, O My God

for...You will 'never' leave me!
