 I met...My Dearest Friend

many years ago

it's been a relationship solid…no bend

not by my will…but His...this I know

He came to me with one request; Love me...

with all your mind, heart and soul…

I give you my Word I’ll always near be...

it was a promise…sealed…with eternal gold

There’s nothing like a…personal…testimony

it just cannot be topped

Especially when about a Friendship...not phony

but a…deeper…Love Affair...that’s never stopped

Blindness is such a sad, sad travesty

I do attest…having lived sightless for so long

I neglected to give the credit for…longevity

to Him to whom it did…and does… belong

But now I can accept that ‘I’ have no prim

indeed, it’s all Almighty God!

for if I had to live a moment without Him

I must confess I'd never rise... from sod

There’re so many burdens in my arena

I could never carry them

but Jesus my Blessed Redeemer

infuses me with His vim

He is the keeper of this fragile mind

that’s fills with discourse and worry

it’s only He that holds me together fine

within the tumult’s flurry

It’s God! His amazing Mercy and Grace

that provides...like none other

it’s His Hand that guides with no errs trace

and protects me…with unseen cover

I’m a weakling and not ashamed to admit it

there’s no worth in this frame…ah! but…

Jesus! He keeps without and within…knit

all the Glory to Him …for victory’s cut!

I’m so glad that I found out in time

tis a sweet revelation to know I can’t stand alone

I’ve learned to lean on Jesus amid the grime

for only through Him will I reach...Home

I’ve taken my eyes off the pulpit

the buildings, the congregations…and all that stuff

I’ve learned to rebuke the author of Salvation’s buffet

now it’s all about…Jesus and me…us

God never lied and said it would be easy

but He vowed to be dependable as dew

He cares for all equally…and is not cheesy

doing for me…what He’ll do for you!

So, I ask; are you troubled...feel forsaken?

are there things you struggle to understand?

I recommend turning to Jesus, not faking...

and miraculous peace He will command

He’ll be your bridge over troubled waters

your bulwark…in every battle

He’s a real reckoning…that won’t barter

who causes evil…to shake and rattle

He’ll be your teacher, counselor and comforter…

a healer who gives joy…despite a tear

He's a mother, father, sister and brother

a sure companion…year after year

In this world so full of hypocrisies…spill

I know only ONE, who is true Beginning and End

and He…throughout these many years...is still…

Why have an imaginary friend when real friends can be found? If one just looks around instead of continually looking inward, trying to find the answer that really isn't there, you will be surprised what friends you have.

"it's all about..Jesus and me... 'us" A true-to-life poem, when Jesus is your own Savior. He's always there! The faith of a child is simple and trusting, believing all that God says. You've said it so well!

Love,
Connie

Your message is clear. It's all about the personal relationship between an individual and his/her God, all the rest is chaff. Well written, compelling and moving. John
