If I had to walk alone
never a move I’d make
I’d stay within four stony walls
afraid a breath to take
The hustle and bustle of the street
would bring out my greatest fears
my days would be spent in turmoil
my nights…spent in tears
But this, Praise God, is not my fate
for I have been to Heaven’s Gate
transported there on the Wings of a Dove
I’ve caught a …taste…of His Glory above
I draw upon God’s strength
He renews me each new day
Feet shod with the Good News
He guides me on every highway
I exist through His Grace…
in His Light of Mercy…shone
Here only because of God’s Faithful Love…
I…Never Walk Alone

In reality, I didn't. My twin brother was at my side. But like you wrote, there were places where we feared to walk. But I never had Agoura phobia like my sister where she never would leave the house. And I hope that you didn't and faced some of your fears outside the house with the kind of bravery you showing your writing. I'm glad you feel protected now.
