IMPORTANT…PLEASE READ! I love the Biblical Book of Song of Solomon. My feelings of appreciation for this book has grown considerably over the years. And I am elated that as a 77-year-old woman, I’ve been allotted the circumstances and time to partake of a relationship with God that I’ve never known. However, many years ago, as a new Christian, when I first read Song of Solomon it turned me on physically… literally. I was lustfully aroused and said to myself, ‘Wow! Look at the heat, the passion between that man and woman. It took quite a while of growing Spiritually(with me yet being a 'work-in-progress')before I came to an understanding of this Book; the man representing God, the woman representing us. God often used parables in the New Testament to give us a clearer understanding of the closer relationship that He seeks with us. However, in the Old Testament the stories are not parables, they are real. For example: The Book of Hosea, where He tells Hosea to marry a prostitute who repeatedly proves to be unfaithful. There we’re shown, regardless our vast shortcomings and His chastisements, God still Loves and Forgives us, over and over again. The Word of God is Holy. And like God, who does not change, His Word does not veer…not in the least. God deemed that the book of Song of Solomon be a part of His Holy Word not to arouse sexually, but to arouse…Spiritually. This book was meant to lead us into a Deeper Love Connection with God, which, as stated, He constantly seeks. Thus, just as He took the love relationship in Hosea to show us how deep His love is for us…he also took the love between a man and woman in Song of Solomon to demonstrate what He was looking for in a relationship with you and I. Think about it! His Spirit…our Spirit…connected and deeply…In Love! (TO THE MARRIED READERS; PLEASE SEE 1 CORINTHIANS 7:32-35).
