In the Moment

Words spoken to me one day
Are still in my head
“Every moment we’re born
Every moment we die.”

It is my moment to question
These very words
If at the moment I’m born
Will I then be dead?

So at this moment of birth
I live the pain of death
For at this very moment
It’s not all in my head.

The moment of my death
It’s the moment I’m born
I won’t be alone
And, I’m not afraid to go home.

I've never quiet thought of life that way, but I guess its true. I like to think of it as living, learning, loving and all the in betweens that go with it , including the good and bad parts of life. We're born , we live , we die and go onto a new and better life in Gods kingdom. . I guess we do die a little at a time, but I certainly don't like to think of it that way. Theres too much to live for and do . Even in my darkest moments , i don't give up...M

Deborah,

You've said everything in the last line "It’s the moment I’m born
I won’t be alone
And, I’m not afraid to go home."
Beautifully written.

My mom says ‘If you can’t say anything nice then don’t say anything’. Sorry mom but under the guise of poetic license I penned these beauties.
