A True Man for All to Behold

A gentle giant you were.
Heaven’s blue eyes, and
A handsome smile.

Stories of past
Written on your face.
Poems of present in your heart.

A courageous soldier
You fought for our freedom.
A loving husband and father.

Hands of strength
And, shoulders of steel.
A protector of your kingdom.

You walked your talk
Always choosing the right road.
A true man for all to behold.

I miss you Daddy!

Wonderful descriptions of your Daddy. He sounds like "a true man for all to behold." I especially like the words, "protector of his kingdom."
Your tribute tugs at the heartstrings.
Sincerely,
Connie

I keep telling myself there is no statute of limitations on grief, because I can't stop it.
I wonder if we will ever be carried in a heart this way.
Dad never lifted himself up, but now I find lifting him up is all I want to do. If he is looking down he can only be surprised how easy that is. I just have to share him.
Beautiful tribute.

John
