One October Day Remember on that October day? You were very determined To have it your way. Even though you cared You didn’t want me there. Daddy, I needed to be near. Remember on that October day? I wanted to have it my way. Determined to stay. You knew that I was scared More than my heart could bare. But, Daddy - I cared. If I could have changed that day I would have had it my way Daddy, you would have stayed. Deborah Ann Tornillo Copyright© 2010

This one really hit me like a sledge hammer to the heart, for when my first wife and I split up it was the hardest thing I ever did in my life to sit that little girl down and explain to her why Daddy wasn't going to live there anymore. In a perfect world parents would never part but sadly that is not always within our control. So I did the next best thing...I took her every weekend I could, I went to all her school and chldhood events and whenever she called even if it was just to cry on my shoulder I was there. That little girl is a parent of her own little girl and we are still as close as any father/daughter in this world. Anyway sorry for the long review...just wanted you to know your words hit home.
