A Vet The phone rings It’s a familiar number My hope sings. Again, I say to myself Is this the one, Has this day finally come? Many calls before They check in Wondering, how I’ve been. They have a question A DNA request Sometimes, a suggestion. The Vietnam Wall Your name etched in stone A soldier known. Hope, tomorrow Another call comes Hope, it’s the one... My heart goes out to you and all those who have lost loved ones, especially those MIA. It is harsh to have to bury someone you love but when there is no proof a part of us always keeps a slim hope no matter how hard we try not to. Sad but honest write...
