Out of Water
Once upon a time
There was this little girl
Who was afraid to go outside.
It was pouring down raining
And, it cut like a knife.
Her mother encouraged her
Open the door sweet child.
Feel the purity of the rain
Smell the freshness of life
It’s not all in vain.
A first of many steps
Tip toeing through the door
Hesitant to leap forward
Afraid to taste
Yet, she needed more.
Standing, outside
She delicately traced
Every precious moment
Of her life, once more
In the safety of her Lord.
Drinking it in and feeling
As it absorbed every mile.
Laughing and not running
From a life stroking
Her cheeks into a smile.
