We gather evergreens and weave them in a circle

around four blue candles and one white.

Four blue candles in the circle of green

for Sundays of Advent.

One white candle in the centre

for the Christ Child, Son of God,

Son of man, Son of Mary.

O Come Emmanuel.

Each Sunday one more candle lit

one more prayer said

as we wait for the Christ Child.

O Come Emmanuel.

Hail Mary full of grace,

The Lord is with you,

Blessed are you among women,

And blessed is the fruit of your womb, Jesus.

Candles lit, beads click,

Prayers said, repeated.

Christ is born,

Emmanuel is with us.

The white candle flames,

Let the celebrations begin.
