Enslaved

A retourne poem. Basically 8 syllables to a line, no rhyming, four line stanzas.

Bound and gagged, whipped and torn
The mortal coil stripped away
Made to serve, shackled forever
Silenced screams, overbearing panic

The mortal coil stripped away
Damned shame and humiliation
Only fragments of the heart live
Cries unanswered, God save my soul

Made to serve, shackled forever
Look at me now, I hope you're proud
Head bowed, now the hunted, inhuman
Locked in a dungeon, eternal torture

Silenced screams, overbearing panic
Entrenched in my shattered veins
Broken. Hating. Cold. Enslaved.
I beg and I plead, set me free!
