You have probably heard the saying,
"Laugh and the world laugh with you;
cry, and you cry alone."
Whether this statement is true or when
it is true is not the issue.

What matters is whether your laughter
or cry, be it accompanied with or without
tears of joy or sorrow, flows spontaneously
out of the soul without concern about how
other people will respond to your soul's
joyful or sorrowful outburst.

For when your laughter or cry is from
the soul you are being authentic and neither
suppression of your emotion or an apology
for your emotion is appropriate.

Know that your Creator is with you when your
laughter or cry is from the soul and that this is
the only Presence you need to cheer you in
your laughter and wipe away your tears of
sorrow when you cry.

With this Presence there is no need for the
world's acknowledgment or validaton when you
laugh or for the world to show up when you cry.
