The awareness of many people is replete
with people who fell from grace, who
were successful, but lost everything.
Who am I. You know my name.
What more could I want or ask for? I used to
ask myself. I was born into a family, although
not wealthy, with more than modest means,
more than enough to meet our needs.
My family had enough to share with others who
were in need, with people who had not been
blessed with wealth or good health as we had.
Early in life I traveled with my parents and
enjoyed going places and meeting people
of means. I used to say, "I've been there and
done that." Now, older than a young adult, I
have come to my waterloo.
My life is a wreck. I have hit rock-bottom.
I have fallen from grace to disgrace. I am
in a dilemma and see no way out.
My cry and plea for help fall on deaf ears.
Nobody cares about me. I am unlovable.
Nobody loves me.
I do not see a way out of my pedicament.
The grace that welcomed me at birth, even
before I was born, and sustained me for
many years is no where to be found. I recall
that there was a man named Paul in a
similar condition as mine, who said:
What a wretched man that I am!
Who will rescue me from this
body of death?
He was delivered. I have just received a
new insight: As long as there is life there
is hope. No longer will I count myself out.
By the grace of God I will find grace again.
