Mind and heart are two inner-immaterial organic organs that control human behavior. The technology of behavior is centered in a person's bio-computer which is superior to any man-made computer. It is the only computer with the five senses humans possess. In addition, the bio-computer is a living organism within a living human being. To these things add, love God, self and others.

Although the bio-computer is brain-propelled it
is not the brain. It is programmed  by heredity -
chromosomes and DNA and the environment - experience. It is in this milieu or context in which the mind and heart function and  behavioris manifested.

The mind refers to the psyche, intelligence, rationality and irrationality. The heart refers
to soul, emotions, feelings, love and compassion.

When behavior is mind-directed rather than heart-directed there is a high probability that it will be destructive. Behavior directed by the heart is healthy. The mind and heart can work in harmony. It
is mind and heart, not mind or heart. To the
degree a person is mind-driven he is being less human
or bestial. Conversely, to the degree a person is
heart-propelled he becomes more human and
demonstatively divine.

The marriage of mind and heart produces good
behavior. In this relationship the heart is
supreme. The mind must answer to the heart,
not visa versa. The heart will not surrender
to the mind even when it is unable to bring the mind into subjection to its will. We might say 'the heart has a mind of its own'.

The experience of pain and joy is a matter
of the heart as well as weeping and rejoicing.
Mind dominance may make a ruthless despot like Hitler while heart dominance may make a saint like Mother Teresa.

Perhaps, there are times when "mind over matter"
has merit but mind over heart causes what was
meant for grace to become disgrace. And it is by
grace that humans exist.
